My Story-Hello. My name is David M Crescitelli. I am the Owner and Founder of The Holiday Outreach Program. The Holiday Outreach Program is an Organization that delivers Christmas and Holiday Gifts to children suffering with Cancer and other chronic/terminal Illnesses at Children's Hospitals along the New York, New Jersey and Tri-State area.

A little bit  more about me!

I am 16 years old.  I started my journey to becoming a non-profit organization four years ago, when I was 12 years old. As a child and teenager, who did and still does suffer from Chronic Illness, this has led me to start my heart-felt organization. I am a born and raised Christian.  God has driven me to continue this organization throughout my own serious health battles,  and to pursue this organization as a career. I plan on continuing to grow my organization in the future.  I was born and raised In Staten Island, New York and moved to Toms River, New Jersey  two years ago.   I have been through some serious health issues myself as a teen. It all started when I was 11, I had complications from an appendectomy, which led to 13 surgeries to this date, including surgery for a tethered spinal cord, spinal fusion, as well as kidney and bladder complications.  I have had surgical intervention for those problems, and in addition to  gastrointestinal surgeries including a Surgical G Tube, which was inserted into my stomach which helps deliver nutrients to me, which I still have to this day. 

 As a CHOP Patient,  I have been admitted to the hospital many times. Sadly,  having chronic illness it is never a short term admission there.  My admissions were always up to a few weeks at a time. I have been fortunate enough to have met many kids my own age, and have even become long term friends. I have always come to the realization that God has blessed me greatly, as there are other children that have it much worse than I do. I have met many children with Cancer, and other terminal illnesses that are much less fortunate than I am.  I have spent many birthdays and holidays here at CHOP. Which led me to start this Organization. I now make it my purpose to deliver holiday gifts to these children at hospitals like Staten Island University, Jersey Shore University Medical Center, and  Hospital for Special Surgeries in the UES of Manhattan and many more hospitals including the RWJ Barnabas Health system.  While I am young in age, my heart and my eyes have seen struggle and pain. While I do not let this get me down, it has actually encouraged me to do much more for other children that suffer with illness that are admitted to the hospital. We have our Ventriloquist Irina Wierzbowski, who visits hospitals with us to deliver smiles to these children's faces. As well as Santa Claus and the Easter Bunny they visit all of our partner hospitals!  We not only deliver gifts to the children, but we never forget the dedicated staff, who work endlessly, day in and day out, to take care of these children. We have local sponsorships such as the  Toms River Dunkin Corp, Texas Roadhouse of Howell, The Cake Chef Bakery in Staten Island,  Lush Cosmetic store, and many more. Our Goal, at The Holiday Outreach Program is to raise as many  funds to help us continue this work. We do this through outreach events like our annual galas and contributions from people like you.
